- Winner: $7,500 scholarship
- Runner up: $3,000 scholarship
- Student must be in the class of 2019, be in good academic standing, and submit a paper and video
- Bernard Maitenaz Scholarship sponsored by Essilor
- $10,000 scholarship
- Student must be in the class of 2019, be in good academic standing, demonstrate financial need, submit two letters of recommendation, and submit either a 1) paper and powerpoint or 2) video
- Dr. Pat and Patrick Cummings Scholarship sponsored in part by Johnson & Johnson Vision, Inc.
- $5,000 scholarship
- Student must be in the class of 2018, be in good academic standing, submit one letter of recommendation, and submit a paper
- Dr. Seymour Galina Scholarship
- $2,500 scholarship
- Student must be in the class of 2019, be in good academic standing, and submit a paper
- Dr. Larry J. Alexander Scholarship for Education sponsored in part by Optovue
- $2,500 scholarship
- Student must be in the class of 2019, be in good academic standing, demonstrate financial need, and submit a paper
Each optometry school will choose one candidate from all applications received by their on-campus deadline (check with your school’s Student Affairs office). Each school must forward the individual’s name and essay to Optometry Cares® in St. Louis by October 31, 2017. The winner will be announced in January 2018.
